CONNERS 3 – EVOLUTION OF ADHD ASSESSMENTS - CLICK HERE TO ORDER
The Conners 3™ is the result of five years of extensive
product development and research. You can count
on Conners 3 to be a reliable and dependable tool
capable of supporting you in the diagnostic process.
Based on the solid findings and key elements of its
predecessor, the Conners’ Rating Scales–Revised
(CRS–R™), Conners 3 has a greater focus on ADHD.
The Conners 3 now addresses comorbid disorders
such as oppositional defiant disorder and conduct
disorder. Each parent, teacher and self-report form is
available in a full length and a short version.
You will benefit from the following enhancements:
- A large representative normative sample based on the
latest U.S. census data
- A refined focus on ADHD in school-age children
with a new age range (6–18 for parent and teacher
scales and 8–18 for self-report scales)
- Strengthened DSM-IV-TR™ connections
- Clear applications in education settings that help
identify children with clinical symptoms
- A manual that provides step-by-step guidance on
how to use the tool in intervention planning and
monitoring
As with its predecessor, the new Conners 3 is a
multi-informant assessment. Gathering information
from parents, teachers and youth provides a view
of the child’s disorder and concerns from multiple
perspectives.
REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE - CLICK HERE TO ORDER
The Conners 3 provides you with
contemporary normative data—data that reflects the
demographic of your diverse populations.
The large normative data sample is representative
of the general U.S. population in terms of ethnicity/
race, gender, and parent education level (U.S. Bureau
of the Census, 2000).
During the collection of data for the normative
sample approximately 6,000 pieces of data were
received. This comprehensive sample allowed for a
thorough evaluation of the psychometric properties
of all versions of the assessment tools.

The Conners 3 provides you with a number of
assessment options.
- Informant; parent, teacher and self-report forms
- Assessment length; full length forms, short
forms, Conners 3 ADHD Index and Conners 3
Global Index
Multi-informant
The Conners 3 provides the mental health
professional multi-informant rating scales—parent,
teacher and self-report, allowing you to build
support for the diagnostic process. The Conners 3
has greater consistency in the scales across raters,
allowing for easier interpretation of multi-informant
assessments.
You will be able to critically examine where there
are discrepancies between the informants, highlight
certain behaviors, and easily compare results.
The parent and self-report options are also available
in Spanish.
Full Length Forms
The full length form is a comprehensive tool that
helps determine a diagnosis through direct links
to the DSM-IV-TR™. The full length parent form
includes 11 0 items, the full length teacher form
includes 11 5 items, and the full length self-report
form includes 99 items. The full forms are excellent
in identifying the specific needs of each youth as well
as areas that require attention and focus.
The full length form provides a number of
innovations such as:
- Three new validity scales (positive impression,
negative impression, and inconsistency index)
increase confidence in the informant’s response
- In addition to the DSM-IV-TR symptom scales for
ADHD, there are two new complete DSM-IV-TR
symptom scales for all informants measuring
oppositional defiant disorder and conduct disorder
- Identification of youth who require immediate
attention and intervention when they display
severe critical conduct behaviors (weapon use, fire
starting, etc.)
- Added screener items for both anxiety and depression
- The ability to measure how problems are impacting a
child’s life at home, school and with friends with the
addition of impairment questions
- Spanish versions of the parent and self-report forms
are also available
- Addition of executive functioning to parent and
teacher forms
Short Forms
The Conners 3 also gives clinicians the choice of
using a short form. The short form, consisting of
39 items in the teacher forms, 43 in the parent
forms, and 39 for the self-report forms, is an
excellent tool for screening large groups of students
who may require additional assessment. This form is
beneficial when the assessment is repeated a number
of times and/or when administration time is limited.
The short form provides you with the strongest items
from the full form’s empirical scales and includes
positive and negative impression indices for all
informants.
The short form is useful in monitoring the success
of treatment programs over long periods of time.
Spanish versions are available for parent and
self-report forms.
Conners 3 ADHD Index
The Conners 3 moves forward with a refreshed
10-item Conners 3 ADHD Index (Conners 3AI).
The items are taken from the Conners 3 full length
form and are the perfect tool when time is of the
essence. The brief index also works well when
you need to screen a large group of children and
adolescents to see if further assessment of ADHD
is warranted.
The items were specifically selected for this form and
are proven to be the best in differentiating between
youth with ADHD from those without a clinical
diagnosis.
Additionally, this form can be used to monitor the
effectiveness of treatment plans, and measure the
patient’s response to intervention.
The Conners 3AI is included in the full length
Conners 3 or can be purchased separately. Spanish
versions are available for parent and self-report forms.
Conners 3 Global Index
The Conners 3 Global Index (Conners 3GI) is a fast
and effective measure of general psychopathology.
It includes the 10 best predictive items from the
trusted market leader, CRS–R, parent and teacher
rating scales.
You can depend on the reliability of this gold
standard index, as the items have remained
unchanged, and the normative data has been updated.
Professionals can rely on the Conners 3GI to
carefully measure the general psychopathology of
their clients and determine the next steps to take in
further examination. The Conners 3GI has proven to
be a fast and effective measure and is specifically used
in monitoring treatment and intervention.
The Conners 3GI is included in the full length
Conners 3 or can be purchased separately. Spanish
